The MPS actively collaborating with other ministries to investigate Tenma and five other major economic cases

Major General To An Xo highlighted that “black credit” is among top priorities of police forces of the Ministry, especially the Criminal Police Department and Criminal Police Offices under the provincial police departments.

 According to reports, “black credit” and usury account for 22.6% of the crimes. This kind of crime is seen in various forms, in many localities and in many fields.

According to the Chief of the MPS Office, the MPS Portal has posted warnings against this type of crime so reporters should access the website to get detailed information about the crime and popularize preventive approaches on the mass media, helping people avoid being victims of the crime.

He affirmed that the MPS has planned to review the implementation of Directive No. 12 of the Prime Minister on strengthening prevention and combat of crimes and criminal offenses related to “black credit”. After the meeting, the MPS will brief the mass media on specific results of the implementation of Directive No. 12.

Regarding the five major economic cases under the direct supervision of the Central Steering Committee for Anti-Corruption, the Chief of the MPS Office said that the MPS is among the agencies assigned to investigate the cases. The Ministry will do its best to investigate these cases and give more details to the mass media as soon as possible.

Responding to questions to bribe allegations involving the Japanese company of Tenma, the high-ranking officer released, the MPS has directed the Provincial Police Department of Bac Ninh, where the company based, to collect more evidence and documents.

To further clarify the case, Deputy Minister of Finance Vu Thi Mai said that following the Prime Minister's direction, the Ministry of Finance has directed the Ministry’s Inspectorate to conduct a comprehensive inspection at the Provincial Tax Department and Customs Department of Bac Ninh.

The Ministry of Finance also directed the Directors of the General Department of Customs and the General Department of Tax to suspend 11 involved officials from their positions.
