The Vietnamese rescue police successfully fulfill mission in Turkey

The Vietnamese rescue police mission successfully completed its rescue operations in Turkey and returned home on February 19, 2023.

The Ministry of Public Security held a ceremony to welcome and honor the rescue police mission at the airport. 

Member of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Minister of Public Security Lieutenant General Le Quoc Hung, Deputy Minister of Public Security Major General Nguyen Van Long, along with representatives from the Turkish Embassy in Vietnam and leaders of units under the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Health were present at the airport from early to welcome the rescue police mission.

Reporting on the results of the mission, head of the Vietnamese rescue police mission and Deputy Director of the Fire Police Department Senior Colonel Nguyen Minh Khuong said that the Vietnamese rescue police mission actively joined other forces in rescue operations in Turkey. 

Vietnamese police officers took many professional measures, applied flexible tactics, used specialized vehicles while conducting search and rescue operations at 3 locations as assigned by local authorities.

    Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Long presents Certificates of Merit from the Ministry of Public Security to members of the Vietnamese rescue police mission in Turkey.

The Vietnamese rescue mission in coordination with other forces rescued an alive victim, and found, moved out and handed 14 dead victims to the local authority. 

The professionalism, high sense of responsibility and working efficiency of the Vietnamese rescue police officers was recognized and appreciated by local people, authorities and international peers, even though they had been assigned to search and rescue in difficult locations.

Turkish Deputy Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary and Plenipotentiary of Turkey to Vietnam Devletsah Yayan expressed his respect and appreciation for the Vietnamese rescue police officers who had braved difficulties and bravely participated in the rescue at dangerous areas.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Minister Le Quoc Hung noted that, despite facing many difficulties, including hard work and harsh weather, the Vietnamese police officers had completed their assigned tasks, contributing to demonstrating the political commitment of the Party and State of Vietnam as a responsible member of the international community, which is always ready to join hands to solve international difficult and challenging issues, and strive for a peaceful and stable environment for cooperation and development in the region and in the world.

On behalf of the Public Security Central Party Committee and leaders of the Ministry of Public Security, Deputy Minister Le Quoc Hung praised the sense of responsibility and courage of the Vietnamese rescue police mission of 24 officers who had participated in rescue operations in Turkey.
