Thua Thien Hue launches tree planting festival

PSNews - Vice Chairman of Thua Thien Hue Provincial People's Committee called on all people, business community, international organizations to join hands in response to the Government’s programme on planting 1 billion trees to 2025.

On the occasion of the 62nd anniversary of the tree-planting campaign launched by the late President Ho Chi Minh (1959-2021) and to respond to a programme to plant 1 billion trees initiated by the Government leader, Thua Thien Hue has just launched a tree planting festival themed “Forever grateful to Uncle Ho" at Chin Ham historic site, An Tay ward, Hue city.

At the launching ceremony, Vice Chairman of Thua Thien Hue Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van Phuong said that, the province's authorities and people are trying their best to turnThua Thien Hue into a centrally-run city on the basis of conservation and promotion of diaspora values and friendly environment. Therefore, the restoration and development of natural landscape play an important role.

Vice Chairman of Thua Thien Hue Provincial People's Committee called on all people, business community, international organizations to join hands in response to the Government’s programme on planting 1 billion trees to 2025.

As announced, the province is set to grow 1.2 million scattered trees this year. Delegates and people attending the launching ceremony planted 100 pine trees at Chin Ham historic site.

Since the first tree planting festival was held in the spring of 1960, the activity has become a common practice whenever a new year arrives.
