Thua Thien – Hue Police regularizes communal police force

At the ceremony, Senior Colonel Le Van Vu, Deputy Director of the Thua Thien-Hue Provincial Police Department announced a decision to appoint 3 police officers at the Phu Vang District Police the police chiefs of the Communal Police Posts of Phu An, Phu Mau and Vinh An. The 3 communes have complex social and security issues.

The Thua Thien- Hue Provincial Police Department also posted 6 other commissioned police officers to other positions in the 3 Communal Police Posts.

According to Senior Colonel Le Van Vu, the policy to regularize the communal police force by posting commissioned police officers to communal police posts is expected to better deal with complex security issues at the basic level.

Phu Vang district is the first locality in Thua Thien- Hue province to pilot the project.

According to VNA, The idea of “formalizing” the commune-level armed forces was first proposed at a meeting of the National Assembly Standing Committee in 2015 to improve the complex security problems affecting rural areas in the country.
