Traffic police force actively participates in nCoV prevention

The Traffic Police Departmenton February 1 sent an official dispatch to traffic police units at all local levels, requesting them to proactively take preventive measures against acute respiratory infection caused by a new strain of Corona virus (nCoV).

Accordingly, the Traffic Police Department directed the local traffic police forces to:

- Strictly implement the directions of the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat, decisions and directives of the Prime Minister, and recommendations of the Ministry of Health on prevention and control of the disease.

- Increase patrols on roads, railways, waterways and strictly check passenger vehicles in order to promptly detect, prevent and handle illegal entry of people and wild animals to the country.

- Coordinate with the health sector and functional forces to prevent and promptly detect suspected cases of infection in order to take further approaches in line with the Government's directions.

- Strictly handle violations of the drink-driving regulations; follow the warnings by the Ministry of Health while conducting blood alcohol concentration tests to ensure safety for both the on-duty officers and the drivers. The breathalyzers must be sterilized and mouthpieces must be single-used. The used mouthpieces must be collected and treated in accordance with regulations of the Ministry of Health.

All traffic police officers must strictly comply with the above regulations till the National Steering Committee for Prevention and Control of Acute Respiratory Infection Caused by nCoV has new directions.
