The Director of the Traffic Police Department on October 26 urged traffic police units in central provinces to take the initiative in responding to Storm 9.

In a dispatch sent on October 26, the Director of the Traffic Police Department urged all traffic police units in central provinces to closely follow the development of the storm to promptly respond to it while closely following the directions of the Department to actively overcome and minimize the natural disasters’ aftermath.

Particularly, the traffic police units in provinces and cities from Nghe An to Phu Yen are asked to deploy officers to regulate traffic flows, place warning signs at areas prone to flood and landslide, and coordinate with other forces to conduct rescue and search activities upon request.

The traffic police units in neighboring provinces should conduct more patrols, grasp the traffic order and safety situation on major routes, especially in key and disaster-prone road sections, prevent and promptly ease traffic jams, prepare forces and means to support other localities in search and rescue missions following the direction of the Ministry.

The Traffic Police Department established a command center in the central city of Da Nang to direct the regional traffic police units to respond to the storm, evacuate people from dangerous areas, minimizing possible damages to people and property caused by the storm.
