On June 19, the National Assembly adopted Resolution No. 121 to further improve the effectiveness and efficiency of policies and laws on prevention and control of child abuse.

Following the directions of the leaders of the MPS and the National Assembly’s Commission on Legal Affairs, the Criminal Police Department has coordinated with other concerned units in compiling training materials used by the police officers in charge of investigating victims of child abuse. The department has also advised the MPS on developing models of investigation rooms friendly to children and juvenile offenders.

Speaking at the training course, Major General Ho Sy Niem, Deputy Director of the Criminal Police Department, stated that in order to strengthen prevention and control of violence and abuse of children, the department coordinated with the MPS’s Office, the People's Police Academy and the provincial police departments of Lai Chau and Dong Thap to organize a training course on child-friendly investigation for police officers in charge of solving cases related to abuse of persons under 16 years old.

After the training course, the trainees are expected to effectively apply the learnt knowledge and skills into the practical fight against crimes of all kind, especially those related to children in their localities.

The training course takes place in two days from September 7 to 8.
