Viet Duc Hospital provides free screening for urinary and genital malformations for nearly 300 children

PSNews – Various parents from many localities brought their children to Viet Duc Hospital on May 18 for free screening checks for urinary and genital malformations.

According to Dr. Nguyen Viet Hoa, Head of the Pediatric Surgery and Infants Department, Viet Duc Hospital, 280 children registered for free health checkups and counselling, provided by 15 doctors. The hospital also offered additional supports for patients and family members.

This program is organized annually by Viet Duc Hospital with the aim of detecting various malformations of children on time.

Dr. Nguyen Viet Hoa said that urinary and genital malformations are inborn diseases, which change the shape or function of one or more parts of this organ. Children usually suffer quicker and more acute symptoms of urinary and genital malformations in children , but they will recover faster than adults after a surgery. Therefore, parents are recommended to take their children to hospital as soon as possible if their children have abnormal signs.

Viet Duc Hospital also offered free travel costs for the children from remote areas.
