Vietnam and Israel promote ties in security

A high-ranking delegation of the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) of Vietnam led by Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Thanh on July 3 welcomed and worked with a high-ranking delegation of the MPS of Israel led by General Director Moshe Edri.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Thanh affirmed that the relations between the two countries in general, between the two ministries in particular see a new impetus and are gradually meeting the two sides’ aspirations and tapping great potential for cooperation in the fields of politics, science, technology, economics, agriculture, education, security and defense, in line with the spirit of the High Level Agreement between the two States and relevant ministries.

Cooperation in security and internal affairs between the two sides has witnessed many rapid and effective developments in recent years. 

Meanwhile, the relationship between the MPS of Vietnam and the MPS of Israel as well as Israeli enterprises plays an important role. This has been reflected by the fruitful outcomes of regular high-level visits between the two sides and the signing of a cooperation agreement between the MPS of Vietnam and the MPS of Israel on crime prevention and fight via bilateral and multilateral channels, including the Interpol.

In order to further promote cooperation between the two ministries in the time to come, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Thanh suggested both sides continue to effectively implement the cooperation agreement between the two ministries, maintain exchanges of delegations at various levels and maintain the public security deputy-ministerial meeting mechanism held in every 2 years.

Deputy Minister Thanh also asked both sides to enhance cooperation on technology transfer as well as research, development and commercial production of electronic equipment, specialized means for internal security, public security, civil defense and defense, fire prevention and fighting, rescue, hi-tech equipment and software for management of immigration, command information, traffic, population, network security and safety; exchange information; and experience sharing in combating transnational crimes while promoting cooperation and mutual support at international forums where the two countries' public security forces are members.

Mr. Moshe Edri appreciated the fine outcomes of the bilateral cooperation achieved by the two ministries over the past time and expressed his hope that the two ministries would step up the cooperation for more achievements in the fields of mutual concern, contributing to maintaining national security, social order and safety as well as promoting national socio-economic development of each country.
