Vietnam and Russia promote cooperation in information security

Speaking at the meeting, Minister To Lam expressed delight at the positive developments in the long-term traditional friendship and the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and the Russian Federation in the past time. Meanwhile, the cooperation between the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) of Vietnam and relevant law enforcement agencies of Russia has been expanded, particularly in security, police work, training and information security.

Minister To Lam emphasized that the MPS highly appreciated that the two sides regularly exchanged criminal information and experiences, coordinated closely in detecting and investigating major cases, particularly those of drug-related crimes and hi-tech crimes. In general, the cooperation between the MPS of Vietnam and Russian partners in the past time have contributed to strengthening strategic trust and promoting the deployment of the comprehensive strategic partnership of Vietnam and Russia.

Minister To Lam spoke highly of the outcomes of the consultation held earlier between the Vietnamese public security delegation and delegation of the Russian Security Council.

With a high sense of responsibility and in an open atmosphere, the two delegations discussed issues of mutual concern in detail and proposed measures and plans to promote the implementation of the governmental-level agreement on cooperation in international information security that both sides put into effect on April 27, 2019.

Mr. Khramov Oleg Vladimirovich affirmed that Russia always attaches great importance to promoting the Vietnam-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership in all fields, especially in fighting crimes, ensuring security and order. He wished that the relationship between Vietnam and the Russian Federation, between the MPS of Vietnam and relevant law enforcement agencies of Russia would further develop and gain more achievements.

Earlier on the same day, the delegation of Vietnam led by Senior General Bui Van Nam, Deputy Minister of Public Security and the delegation of the Security Council of the Russian Federation led by Mr. Khramov Oleg Vladimirovich, had the first consultation to discuss issues related to information security and the implementation of the Agreement between the Governments of Vietnam and Russia on cooperation in international information security, signed on September 6, 2018 and taking effecton April 27, 2019.
