Vietnam, Belarus agree to expand cooperation in forensic science research

Minister of Public Security General To Lam hosted the official welcoming ceremony of a high-ranking delegation of the State Forensic Examination Committee of the Republic of Belarus led by Chairman Volkov Alekxey Aleksandrovich, on the afternoon of November 28, in Hanoi.

After the welcoming ceremony, a high-level delegation of the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam led by Minister To Lam and the visiting delegation of the State Forensic Examination Committee of the Republic of Belarus headed by Chairman Volkov Alekxey Aleksandrovich had talks.

To strengthen closer and more effective cooperation between the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and the State Forensic Examination Committee of the Republic of Belarus in Forensic Examination, Minister To Lam and Chairman Volkov Alekxey Aleksandrovich both highlighted the need to expand the bilateral cooperation that the two sides are interested in, in the near future. 

In particular, the two sides need to increase exchange of delegations at all levels and effectively implement the Cooperation Agreement in the field of forensic examination signed by the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and the State Forensic Examination Committee of the Republic of Belarus.

The host also proposed the Belarusian side to support the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam to improve the capacity of its forensic officers while holding more professional seminars in the two countries for forensic practitioners and experts of the two sides to exchange new knowledge and technology as well as results of forensic science research.

Minister To Lam also suggested drawing up plans to send groups of officers from the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and the State Forensic Examination Committee of the Republic of Belarus to take vacation trips to the other country.

* On the same morning, the delegation of the State Forensic Examination Committee of the Republic of Belarus led by Committee Chairman Volkov Alekxey Aleksandrovich visited the Institute of Criminal Sciences of the Ministry of Public Security. Director of the Institute of Criminal Sciences Major General Nguyen Tien Nam and other leaders of the institute received and worked with the delegation.
