Vietnam, Belarus strengthen cooperation in fire-fighting and rescue

PSNews - Deputy Minister of Public Security Major General Le Quoc Hung hosted a high-ranking delegation of the Belarusian Ministry of Emergencies led by Deputy Minister Andrei Mikhailovich, on December 25 in Hanoi.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister Le Quoc Hung emphasized that the cooperative relationship between the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security (MPS) and the Belarusian law enforcement agencies in general, the Belarusian Ministry of Emergencies in particular, has flourished over the past years and achieved significant results.

Particularly, the Belarusian side has trained fire-fighting and rescue skills for Vietnamese police officers and cadets as well as shared various scientific documents and experience with the Vietnamese counterpart in firefighting training.

The two ministries have also maintained and enhanced exchange of experience in warning and preventing emergency situations.

In order to promote their cooperation between in the coming time, Deputy Minister Le Quoc Hung suggested the two sides further exchange delegations at all levels to share information and experience in fire prevention and fighting, natural disaster relief. rescue and emergency response.

They should coordinate in conducting scientific projects on fire-fighting and rescue and effectively applying the results to their operations in each country while exchanging documents, regulations, standards, and scientific achievements in fire prevention and fighting with each other, Deputy Minister Hung stressed.

On this occasion, the Vietnamese MPS presented to Deputy Minister Andrei Mikhailovich a draft MoU between the two ministries for the Belarusian side to comment on. Deputy Minister Le Quoc Hung hoped that the two sides will negotiate and sign the MoU soon in order to create a framework for cooperative activities in the coming time.

For his part, Deputy Minister Andrei Mikhailovich expressed his delight at the positive developments in all aspects of the friendly and cooperative relationship between Belarus and Vietnam over the past years. 

He affirmed the Belarus side will be committed to further maintaining and developing a close relationship with the Vietnamese MPS in various fields of mutual concern.

* On December 26, 2021, Deputy Minister Andrei Mikhailovich leading the Belarusian delegation visited and worked with the University of Fire Prevention and Fighting in Hanoi.

During the trip, Belarusian delegates took a tour to training facilities in the University of Fire Prevention and Fighting and observed a fire-fighting and rescue drill performed by police cadets of the university.
