Vietnam - Cambodia strengthen cooperation in crime prevention and combat

Recently, Chief of the Representative Office of the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam in Cambodia Major General Le Van Phuong visited and congratulated General Sar Thet on his appointment as Commander of the National Police, Ministry of Internal Affairs of Cambodia.

Recently, Chief of the Representative Office of the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam in Cambodia Major General Le Van Phuong visited and congratulated General Sar Thet on his appointment as Commander of the National Police, Ministry of Internal Affairs of Cambodia.

Major General Le Van Phuong also conveyed congratulations of Minister of Public Security General To Lam and other leaders of the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam to General Sar Thet.

Major General Le Van Phuong affirmed that the Representative Office of the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam in Cambodia would continue to promote its important role in exchanging information and coordinating the two sides in crime prevention and control.

Sincerely thanking the good sentiment of the leaders of the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam, General Sar Thet pledged that he would lead the Cambodian police to strengthen cooperation with the Vietnamese counterpart as well as ties between the Ministry of the Interior of Cambodia and Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam.

He suggested that the two sides draw up cooperation plans, and that units of the two sides should strengthen information exchange and coordination in preventing and fighting crime, particularly border-cross illicit drug trafficking and cyber fraud.
