On behalf of the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Long warmly welcomed Vice Minister Liu Zhongyi and the high-ranking delegation of the Chinese Ministry of Public Security to attend the grand ceremony to celebrate the 80th founding anniversary of the People’s Public Security Forces of Vietnam.

At the meeting, the two Deputy Ministers reviewed the notable results of cooperation between the two ministries in recent years. Accordingly, the two sides have regularly maintained high-level exchange mechanisms to deliver messages and reach consensus on directions to promote strategic cooperation.

The two sides also successfully co-organized two rounds of vice-ministerial dialogues on political security, coordinated effectively in preventing and combating transnational crimes and jointly launched campaigns against human trafficking and drug-related crimes as well as against high-tech crimes, online fraud and illegal gambling.

To further advance bilateral cooperation, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Long proposed that the two sides continue to coordinate closely and share experiences in addressing both traditional and non-traditional security issues, including transnational crimes such as economic crimes, human trafficking, drug-related crimes, cyber fraud, fugitive tracking, and illegal immigration prevention.

He also emphasized the importance of enhancing information sharing, strengthening cooperation in personnel training, sharing experiences in digital transformation and improving law enforcement capacity especially in combating high-tech crimes.

For his part, Vice Minister Liu Zhongyi extended warm congratulations to Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Long and all officers and enlistees on the 80th anniversary of the People’s Public Security Forces of Vietnam.

The guest highly valued the practical and effective cooperation achieved by the two ministries, particularly in safeguarding political security, combating transnational crimes and training and capacity-building of police officers.

Vice Minister Liu Zhongyi expressed his confidence that, under the sound leadership of the top leaders of the two Parties and States, the cooperation between the Ministry of Public Security of China and the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam will continue to be strengthened and elevated, contributing to safeguarding national security and social order and safety in both countries as well as to maintaining peace and stability in the region.
