Overview of the meeting.

On behalf of the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam (MPS), Minister Luong Tam Quang warmly welcomed Ambassador Rogelio Polanco Fuentes to his new post in Vietnam, and wished the Ambassador a successful term of office.

The Minister underlined that the special solidarity and friendship between the two Parties and States have been continuously strengthened and developed on the basis of mutual trust and understanding over the past time, stressing that Vietnam has always stood side by side and supported Cuba at multilateral international forums and the United Nations.

In addition, the relationship between the Vietnam’s MPS and the Ministry of the Interior of Cuba has been consistently upheld and further strengthened in recent times.

The two sides have maintained regular exchanges of delegations at all levels to discuss the situation in each country and share hands-on experiences. At the same time, the Vietnam's MPS has supported the Ministry of the Interior of Cuba in time to address current challenges, such as supplying technical equipment for Cuban mobile police and fire and rescue forces, as well as medical equipment for other police forces.

The host suggested that both sides focus on effectively implementing the commitments and agreements made by the top leaders of the two countries during the State visit of General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam To Lam to Cuba in September 2024.

The Vietnamese Minister also proposed that the two Ministries continue to support and closely cooperate with each other at international forums, while bolstering the comprehensive bilateral cooperation in a practical and effective manner, contributing to the protection of national security and the interests of each country.

Minister Luong Tam Quang affirmed that he will always support the Ambassador so as he can excellently fulfill his duties, deserving the trust placed in him by the Party, State, and people of Cuba and contributing to deepening the Vietnam-Cuba relationship in a practical and effective manner.

Minister Luong Tam Quang expressed confidence that Ambassador Rogelio Polanco Fuentes will make positive contributions to strengthening the fraternal solidarity, comprehensive cooperation and mutual trust between the Parties, States, and peoples of Vietnam and Cuba in general, and to fostering the cooperation and relations between the Vietnam's MPS and the Cuban Ministry of the Interior in particular.

Sincerely thanking Minister Luong Tam Quang for the meeting, Ambassador Rogelio Polanco Fuentes pledged that he will serve as a bridge between the two sides and further deepen the traditional friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Cuba for more positive results in all areas.
