Vietnam, Mongolia agree to strengthen cooperation in controlling crime

Minister of Public Security General To Lam had a meeting with Minister of Justice and Internal Affairs of Mongolia Khishgee Nyambaatar, who had a working visit to the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam, on the morning of September 11.

At the meeting, the two ministers agreed on a number of key contents with the aim of expanding cooperation between the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and the Ministry of Justice and Home Affairs of Mongolia.

Particularly, the two sides agreed to enhance delegation exchange at all levels and maintain close and effective cooperation between the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam, the Ministry of Justice and Home Affairs as well as relevant agencies of Mongolia in organizing activities in celebration of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Mongolia in 2024.

The two sides also saw the need to boost cooperation in preventing and controlling crimes related to citizens of the two countries, share information and working experience, organize training courses on countering such crimes as corruption, illicit drug trafficking, transnational crime, and build capacity of law enforcement officers of the two side, contributing to maintaining order and security in the two countries as well as to preserving peace, stability and security in the region and the world.

The two sides should also effectively implement cooperation agreements signed between the two countries as well as the two agencies.

The two ministers shared the view that the two sides should step up negotiations to sign cooperation documents on countering illicit drug trafficking and illegal immigration while creating favorable conditions for citizens of one country to live, study and work in the other.
