By 2 pm of October 11, floods in Yen Bai had killed 3, injured 7, and left 10 other missing.
Heavy rains and floods have affected 739 houses, including 30 ones completely collapsed; 153 households had to move away and 533 houses have been drowned.

In Yen Bai city, water from the Hong river drowned several streets. The Yen Bai Municipal Police Department directed various units to implement various measures to respond to the flooding.
In Van Chan district, four people in a family went missing.
In Nghia Lo township, Thia Bridge collapsed at 12:15 pm in severe floods, making five people fall into the stream and go missing, including an on-duty Vietnam News Agency correspondent, who worked as a local correspondent in the province.
