Themed "New Rhythm", Vietnam Poetry Day 2023, which opened on Sunday (the 15th day of the first lunar month), highlighted the aspiration towards a bright future, as the country has passed through the COVID-19 pandemic and returned to normal life with a new rhythm, spirit and belief.
Nguyen Quang Thieu, President of the Vietnam Writers' Association (VWA) said that the 21st edition carries the wish that after the country has overcome the pandemic, life returns with a "new rhythm, momentum and confidence" along with the recovery of the whole economy, culture and society to approach a future full of hope for good things.
After 18 years of being held at the Temple of Literature (Quoc Tu Giam) this year, for the first time, the Vietnam Writers Association chose the Imperial Citadel of Thang Long - Hanoi as the venue for the Vietnam Poetry Day.
During the day, diverse activities were underway: Poetry Street, Book Street, poetry talks, and poem recitation and talk shows about poetry.
The main art program of Poetry Day took place at the center stage in front of Doan Mon Gate, where famous poets recited their poems and interacted with audiences.
Through these programs, poetry lovers as well as young people will have chance to learn more about Vietnamese literature.
