The Embassy would continue to coordinate with the local authorities and representatives of the Vietnamese community in Turkey to get information related to Vietnamese citizens. So far, no Vietnamese citizen in Turkey has been reported dead or injured in the disaster.
A rescue mission led by the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security in coordination with Pakistani forces found and took out three dead bodies of the rubble of collapsed buildings on February 12, the second day since they started their rescue operation in Turkey.
* According to the Transport Department under the Ministry of Defense’s General Department of Logistics, the 971st Transport Brigade on February 12 prepared 35 tons of cargo, including food, equipment and medicine, ready for a contingent of the Vietnam People’s Army to participate in the relief efforts in Turkey. The cargo will then be transported to Turkey on a separate flight.
