Vietnam, Qatar strengthen cooperation in crime prevention and control

Congratulating Ambassador Khalid Ali Abdullah Abel on his new posting, Minister To Lam expressed his belief that the ambassador, with his deep knowledge and extensive diplomatic experience during his work in the United States, South Africa, the Republic of Korea and Malta as well as his important positions at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, will achieve success in his work in Vietnam.

Overview of the meeting.

In order to strengthen bilateral relations between Vietnam and Qatar, Minister To Lam suggested that the two sides strengthen coordination in building a long-term legal framework for cooperation in crime prevention and combat and criminal justice cooperation. 

Particularly, the host suggested negotiating and signing criminal justice agreements to create a legal basis to expand coordination, exchange and cooperation activities in economics and politics in general and in the field of crime prevention and control in particular.

The Ambassador affirmed that he will do his best to foster the development of the bilateral cooperation and relationship between Qatar and Vietnam, and act as a bridge connecting the two countries, advocate the cooperation between the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security and Qatar's law enforcement agencies, for national security, prosperity and national interests of each country.
