Furthermore, one tonne of materials used to produce the COVID-19 treatment drug Movinavir from India’s Optimus Pharma were handed over to representatives from the Ministry of Health.

The batch of the vaccine and drug materials were brought to the nation on a flight carrying National Assembly (NA) Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue and his entourage who recently concluded an official six-day visit to the Republic of Korea (RoK) and India.

One the highlights of the trip visit was the specific results of vaccine diplomacy work and co-operation in fighting the COVID-19 pandemic.

Through high-level meetings held with businesses, NA Chairman Hue received various COVID-19 vaccines, supplies, and materials for producing COVID-19 treatment drugs, in addition to financial support from RoK enterprises.

A ceremony held to hand over vaccines and materials to produce COVID-19 treatment drugs to various local agencies was organised immediately after the Vietnamese delegation touched down at Noi Bai International Airport.

At the airport, Deputy Prime Minister Le Minh Khai also handed over financial support of KRW2 billion, equal to VND40 billion, presented by Hana Bank of the RoK to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee in order to help carry out social welfare activities.
