Vietnam, Russian agree to expand cooperation in fire prevention, fighting and rescue

Minister of Public Security General To Lam hosted a ceremony to officially welcome a high-ranking delegation of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation led by Minister Senior Lieutenant General Kurenkov Aleksandr Vyacheslavovich, on the morning of November 9, in Hanoi.

After the welcoming ceremony, the high-ranking delegation of the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam led by Minister To Lam and the high-ranking delegation of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation headed by Minister Kurenkov Aleksandr Vyacheslavovich held talks.

Speaking at the talks, Minister To Lam affirmed that the Vietnamese side always values and wishes to strengthen the traditional friendship and bolster the comprehensive cooperation between the two countries in an effective, practical and reliable manner. 

Based on the Vietnam-Russia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation has developed cooperation in various fields over the past many years.

Overview of the talks.

At the talks, Minister Kurenkov Aleksandr Vyacheslavovich thanked the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam for the warm but esteemed welcome given to the high-ranking delegation of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation. 

He stated that the close ties and comprehensive cooperation between the two ministries in many fields, especially in fire prevention, firefighting and rescue, experience sharing in warning and overcoming emergencies has contributed to deepening and consolidating the traditional friendly relationship between the two countries.

Overview of the talks.

*Based on the Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Public Security of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the Ministry of Civil Defense, Emergencies and Disaster Recovery of the Russian Federation in exchange of experience in warning and overcoming emergency situations signed in August 2022, Minister To Lam and Minister Kurenkov Aleksandr Vyacheslavovich discussed and agreed a number of contents on areas of cooperation that both sides are interested in in the near future.
