Vietnam, Thailand’ police forces promote cooperation

PSNews - The Ministry of Public Security on September 7 received a delegation of the Royal Thai Police delegation led by General Tanitsak Teerasawat, Special Advisor and Director of the Royal Thai Police's High Tech Center.

On behalf of Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Thanh, Deputy Minister of Public Security, Major General Truong Van Thong, Director of the Department for Foreign Affairs of the Ministry of Public Security hosted a reception for the visiting Royal Thai Police delegation.

Speaking at the event, Major General Truong Van Thong expressed his delight at recent fine developments in various fields of the Vietnam-Thailand strategic partnership, particularly economics, trade, investment and security.

He emphasized that the visit of the Royal Thai Police delegation led by General Tanitsak Teerasawat, Special Advisor and Director of the Royal Thai Police's High Tech Center will deepen the relationship between the two countries in general, and cooperation between the Royal Thai Police and the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security in particular.

In the coming time, on the basis of good ties between the two countries' police forces, Major General Thong suggested the two side promote exchanges of delegations, cooperation on personnel training, and sharing of information and experience in crime prevention and fight.

He also hoped that the two sides would continue their coordination to deny any individuals or organizations from using one country’s territory to carry out activities against the other’s national interests, as well as promote cooperation in dealing cases of citizens of one country committing offences in the other country, and ensure security and safety for diplomatic offices, businesses and citizens of one country in the other country.

For his part, General Tanitsak Teerasawat, Special Advisor and Director of the Royal Thai Police's High Tech Center thanked the Vietnamese side for the warm reception. He said that the cooperation between the two police forces has been effective, contributing significantly to tightening bilateral relations between the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security and the Royal Thai Police.

He also vowed that the Royal Thai Police is alway willing to promote cooperation with the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security in all aspects of mutual concern.
