Vietnam-USA enhance cooperation in crime fighting

PSNews- On the afternoon of 30-3, Lieutenant General Le Quy Vuong, Deputy Minister of Public Security, received Ms. Susan Sutton, Deputy Chief of Mission to Vietnam.

The Vietnamese Deputy Minister expressed his pleasure that the Vietnam-US comprehensive partnership has continuously been cemented and strengthened  in various fields, including politics, economics, socio-culture and security, contributing significantly to the stable and sustainable development of each country in particular and the region in general. 

Regarding ​​cooperation in the fight against crime, the Vietnam’s Ministry of Public Security and US law enforcement agencies have increased exchanges of information and experiences, coordinated in investing crimes, such as terrorism, and organized, high-tech and environmental crimes. 

Deputy Minister Le Quy Vuong hoped that, in the coming time, the two sides will further strengthen cooperation in preventing and combating terrorism, drug-related crimes, trafficking of humans and wild animals.

Ms. Sutton thanked Mr. Vuong for the reception, and stressed that the United States attaches great importance to the comprehensive partnership with Vietnam in general and close cooperation on security in particular. 

The deputy ambassador believed that cooperation between the two countries in general, between the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and law enforcement agencies of the United States in particular, will continue to develop to a higher level in the future.
