A Luoi is a mountainous district of Thua Thien – Hue, which shares 85 kilometers of border with Salavan and Sekong provinces of Laos.

In recent years, the situations of security and order on both sides of the shared borderline have been well maintained, while local residents have well implemented the policies and laws of the two countries, and supported each other in controlling illegal migration.

To achieve such fine results, the police force of Thua Thien – Hue and A Luoi district have tirelessly conducted legal dissemination  and education for the people living along the Vietnam-Laos borderline.

According to Senior Colonel Cao Thanh Hai, Deputy Head of the Staff Office of the Thua Thien – Hue Provincial Police, the local police had signed a memorandum of understanding on border security cooperation with the security agencies of the two Lao provinces of Salavane and Se Kong.

In May and June of 2017, the Departments of Security of the two provinces of Champasack and Savannakhet of Laos signed a memorandum of understanding on security and order cooperation with the police of Thua Thien Hue.

According to Senior Colonel Nguyen Van Thanh, Deputy Director of the Thua Thien-Hue Provincial Police, in addition to the cooperation in maintaining border security and order, the provincial police and security forces of Thua Thien – Hue, Salavane, Sekong, Champasack and Savannakhet have also conducted various activities over the past years to promote solidarity and mutual assistance in many fields.

Particularly, the police of Thua Thien-Hue has built a collective canteen and a cistern worth hundreds of millions VND for the Lao police station at the Co Tai Border Gate (Salavane province) and presented many computer sets, office supplies to security agencies of Laos.
