The exhibition aimed to introduce important findings of Vietnamese archaeologists over the past 60 years and the results of the archaeological cooperation between Vietnam and Germany.

The event is part of the program in celebration of the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations (September 23, 1975-2015) and the 25th anniversary of the signing of the Cultural Agreement (May 10, 1990-2015) between Vietnam and Germany. Such an activity also aims to promote Vietnamese cultural heritages to international friends.
The exhibition "Treasures of Vietnam’s archaeology" is a joint effort of the Vietnam National Museum of History and other local museums in Binh Duong, Dong Thap, Hanoi, Lam Dong, Phu Tho, as well as the Thang Long-Hanoi Heritage Conservation Center, the My Son Management Board of Relics and Tourism, Hanoi Goethe and three German national museums namely Herne, Chemnitz, Reiss-Engelhorn.
Through this special exhibition, nearly 300 artifacts from the prehistory to the Le Trung Hung Dynasty (16-18 centuries) are displayed on an area of over 600 square meters. They are divided into three main themes: "Prehistoric archeology"; "Archaeological treasures of the metal age"; and "Historical archaeological treasures".
The exhibition runs through to July at the Vietnam National Museum of History.
