Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security, Royal Thai Police hold dialogue on security issues

Director General of the Department of Homeland Security Lieutenant General Pham Ngoc Viet, leading a high-ranking delegation of the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam, attended the third edition of the High-level Dialogue on Security Issues between the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security and the Royal Thai Police took place in Thailand from May 7th to 10th, 2024.

Assistant Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Thai Police Lieutenant General Pakphumphiphat Sajjapan headed a high-ranking delegation of the Royal Thai Police attending the dialogue.

At the dialogue, the two delegations’ heads voiced that the bilateral cooperation between the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and the Royal Thai Police witnessed positive developments in the fields of security, transnational crime prevention and capacity-building of police personnel of the two sides on the basis of the traditional friendship between the two countries.

Underlining the significance of the High-level Dialogue on Security Issues between the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security and the Royal Thai Police, delegates agreed that the dialogue plays a key role in promoting bilateral cooperation in several fields, for the common interests of the two people.

At the dialogue, delegates discussed the global and regional situations affecting the bilateral cooperation, as well as reviewed the results of cooperation in combating crime via INTERPOL, controlling illegal immigration and human trafficking, countering terrorism and cybercrime, and holding training programs on security issues. 

The two sides totally agreed not to let any individual or organization use one country's territory to carry out sabotage activities against the other country.

The two sides also saw the need to effectively implement the signed cooperation documents in the coming time.

Within the framework of the working trip to Thailand, the Vietnamese delegation visited the Vietnam Embassy in Thailand, and had a meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam to Thailand Pham Viet Hung and other officials of the Embassy.
