Vietnamese MPS, Cuban MoI strengthen in-depth cooperation

A delegation of the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security (MPS) led by Deputy Minister Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Son had a meeting with the Cuban Ministry of Interior (MoI) on September 19 in Havana, the capital of the Republic of Cuba.

The Cuban delegation was headed by Lieutenant General Lázaro Alberto Álvarez Casas, Politburo Member of the Cuban Communist Party and Cuban Minister of the Interior.

Speaking at the meeting, on behalf of the Vietnamese delegation, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Son thanked the Cuban Minister of Interior for his warm welcome to the delegation and spoke highly of the Cuban Minister’s strong support for the bilateral cooperation between the Cuban MoI and the Vietnamese MPS in the fields of security, crime combat, logistics and technology, and staff training over the past time.

Deputy Minister Son affirmed that the Party, State, and people of Vietnam always treasure the long-lasting faithful relationship between the two countries, which has been nurtured by generations of Vietnamese and Cuban revolutionaries.

At the meeting, the two sides discussed various contents with the aim of expanding bilateral cooperation for practical and high-quality results.

Deputy Minister Son highlighted the success of the in-depth online scientific conference held on May 19-20 by the health agencies of the two ministries, saying that it was a good start for the bilateral cooperation in health care, a cooperation field of mutual interest.

At the end of the meeting, Minister Lázaro Alberto Álvarez Casas and Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Son witnessed the signing of the Medical Cooperation Agreement between the Director of the Foreign Relations Department under the Vietnamese MPS and the Director of the General Department of Logistics under the Cuban MoI.

* On the morning of the same day, the delegation of the Vietnamese MPS visited and worked with CIMEQ Hospital of Cuba.
