This year’s IJSO saw the participation of some 280 students from 44 countries and territories across the world.

All 6 participating students, from Hanoi-Amsterdam High School, have won medals, the highest achievements of Vietnam after 9 years competing in this Olympiad.

The four gold-winners include Nguyen Manh Quan, Vu Quynh Chi, Nguyen Le Thao Anh and Tran Mai Phuong while Tran Dinh Quan and La Trieu Duong won silver medals.

Students participating in the IJSO 2018 must take three tests: multiple choice, theoretical knowledge and practice tasks. IJSO tests are designed by the IJSO Committee of many professors and scientists around the world.

IJSO questions are always demanding and require candidates to be excellent at problem resolving, critical thinking and experimentation. In particular, the questions on the IJSO 2018 exam focus on actual environmental and ecological issues of Botswana in particular and of the world in general.

The Hanoi Municipal Department of Education and Training is expected to host a ceremony to welcome and honor the students at Noi Bai Airport on the afternoon of December 14.
