VNR to sell train tickets for Tet holiday from October

The Vietnam Railway Corporation (VNR) will sell train tickets from October 1 for the upcoming Tet (Lunar New Year) holiday.

Passengers can book tickets online at www.dsvn.vn, vietnamrailway.vn and vetau.com.vn or at local train stations.

Passengers are not allowed to buy more than four online one-way tickets at a time, the Tien phong (Vanguard) newspaper reported.

Between September 25 and September 30, some 20 percent of the tickets will be sold to passengers travelling in groups.

VNR announced it would run the trains from January 17 to February 12, 2017, to serve passengers during the Tet holiday.

To enhance transport capacity and demand according to the actual requirement, the railway sector has also prepared stand-by plans to serve passengers.
