14 firms evading employee social insurance payments may face criminal charges

PSNews – The Hanoi Municipal People’s Committee recently issued an official dispatch requesting relevant agencies to handle firms in the city that still owe payment of social insurance, unemployment insurance and health insurance of 2020.

Accordingly, the Hanoi City People’s Committee assigned the Director of the Hanoi Social Insurance Agency in collaboration with the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, the City Labor Confederation, the City Police, the City People’s Court and the City People’s Procuracy to complete dossiers on 14 firms that had not cooperated with, provided relevant documents to the inspection team, and paid social insurance premiums for their employees in 2020. 

These 14 firms include Dseatech Group Joint Stock Company;DNC Investment Joint Stock Company; An Sinh Trading Company Limited; Center for Urban Planning and Design; Civil Engineering Construction Corporation No.1 -Cienco1; Import-Export and Construction Investment Joint Stock Company Vietnam 168; Tan Tien Production and Trading Company Limited; Vietnam Industrial System Co., Ltd; STARLINKS JSC; Hassyu Vietnam Joint Stock Company; H&T Import-Export and Investment Joint Stock Company; Vietnam Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company; AST Tourism Joint Stock Company; and Thien Thach Thao Education Development Joint Stock Company.

The total amount owed by these 14 enterprises to the local social insurance agency is more than 16.3 billion VND. This situation has lasted for many years, negatively affecting the legitimate interests of employees.

The City People's Committee also assigned the Director of the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs to impose administrative fines on them or propose the City People’s Committee to fine them.

The City Social Insurance Agency also requested the City People's Committee to transfer these cases to court in accordance with provisions of the Criminal Procedure Code, the amended 2015 Penal Code, and Resolution No. 05/2019/NQ-HDTP issued on August 15, 2019 by the Council of Justice of the Supreme People's Court.
