2019 Vietwater exhibition opens in Hanoi

The 2019 Vietnam international water and environment exhibition (Vietwater) opened in Hanoi on July 24 with the participation of more than 200 exhibitors from 30 countries and territories.

The exhibitors will showcase products and technology for desalination, sustainable water supply, industrial and urban water management, urban waste treatment, water storage and wastewater treatment.

Addressing the opening ceremony, Cao Lai Quang, President of the Vietnam Water Supply & Sewerage Association (VWSA), said that with speedy urbanisation, Vietnam needs to develop its water sewage and treatment systems.

The water sector targets 95-100 percent of people having access to clean water in 2025, with water loss ratio of less than 15 percent, along with 70 percent coverage of water drainage systems and up to 80 percent of water in trade villages treated, he noted.

The official said the 2019 Vietwaterwill introduce new products, solutions and technologies for water supply and wastewater treatment in Vietnam.

During the three-day event, a conference will be held under the theme“Water Management towards Sustainable Development Goals”, and another on Vietnamese water technology.

The event allows officials, businesses and members of the VWSA to meet and exchange experience as well as access new technologies.

This is the 11th time the Vietwater has been held with the support of the VWSA and the Ministry of Construction.
