3rd Vietnam – India Deputy-Ministerial Security Dialogue takes place in Vietnam

PSNews -  The 3rd Vietnam–India Deputy-Ministerial Security Dialogue took place on the morning of December 5th, in Hanoi.

Deputy Minister of Public Security of Vietnam Lieutenant General Pham The Tung and Deputy National Security Advisor of India Pavan Kapoor co-chaired the dialogue.

The dialogue also saw the presence of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India to Vietnam Sandeep Arya.

Delivering his opening remark, Deputy Minister Pham The Tung underlined that, since the two countries upgraded their diplomatic relations to a comprehensive strategic partnership in 2016, Vietnam and India have achieved numerous positive cooperation results in the fields of politics, diplomacy, security, defense, culture, society and people-to-people exchange.

The Vietnamese official noted that during the recent visit of Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh to India in August 2024, the two countries agreed to effectively implement the Action Program to realize contents of the Vietnam-India Comprehensive Strategic Partnership for the period 2024-2028 with prospects for many good cooperation outcomes.

At the dialogue, the two sides openly discussed 10 carefully-chosen topics to evaluate the results of bilateral cooperation since the 2nd Vietnam-India Security Dialogue.

During the meeting, the two sides extensively evaluated specialized cooperation results in specific fields, exchanged information, analyzed emerging security challenges, discussed cooperation in applying science and technology to the work of protecting national security and preventing and combating transnational crime with the aim of promoting cooperation and relations between the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and Indian law enforcement agencies, contributing to deepening the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.

The two sides pledged to closely coordinate to implement cooperation orientations in the coming time to protect national security and ensure social order and safety of each country, contributing to deepening the Vietnam-India comprehensive strategic partnership in the new period in a practical and effective manner.
