8,000 athletes to attend HCM City International Marathon 2018

PSNews - 8,000 domestic and foreign runners and 2,000 volunteers will participate in the Techcombank Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) International Marathon 2018, according to the event's organizers.

The event, which was held successfully in 2017 with 5,000 participants, will make its comeback this year on December 2 on a bigger scale.

The marathon this year consists of 3 categories, namely 42.195 km run for professional runner, 21.1 km run and 10 km run for non-professional runner.

The 42.195 km running track will go through 6 Districts of HCMC and finish at Thu Thiem, which can overview the city.

At the moment, the organizers have received great support from the Tourism Department, the Culture and Sports Department, and the Athletics Federation of HCMC, along with 2,000 volunteers. The event expected to gather 8,000 domestic and foreign runners.

The International HCMC Marathon 2018 will also organize the Kid Run for children from 5 to 14 years old and the Family Run for members of the same families on December 1. The organizers hope that the two events will enhance the spirit of physical training for the younger generation, and also strengthen the family bonds.

There will also be other activities such as the Marathon Village, music performances, professional seminars and other entertaining activities for supporters and relatives of the athletes.
