All people contacting COVID-19 patient No.262 in Samsung unit quarantined

PSNews –A Samsung Display Vietnam Factory has quarantined its employees who had come into close contact with COVID-19 patient No.262, a resident of Me Linh District, Hanoi City.

According to the Samsung Display Vietnam Company, patient No.262 works at the Quality Control Section of the Samsung Display Vietnam Factory located in Bac Ninh Province.

On March 27, patient No.262 had close contact with his infected uncle, who is patient No.254. On March 31, he had cough and fever.

The man continued to work until April 6. He tested positive for virus SARS-CoV-2 on April 12.

He is now quarantined and receiving treatment at the National Hospital of Tropical Diseases 2.

On the night of April 12, the Steering Committee for COVID-19 disease prevention and control in Bac Ninh Province held an urgent meeting with the Samsung Display Vietnam Company to discuss solution to the situation. 

In particular, the local authority in collaboration with the company identified and quarantined and tested 178 workers of the factory that had contacted the patient.

The province also disinfected all 9 charter buses transporting its employees and all areas related to patient No.262. The province has also applied self-quarantine or concentrated quarantine to the patient’s family members and friends.

Bac Ninh province also asked the Samsung Display Vietnam Company to close the patient’s working unit and the canteen where patient No.262 visited.
