Binh Phuoc to install AI-based security camera to catch traffic offenders

PSNews – The People’s Committee of Binh Phuoc Province recently approved a 55 billion VND investment in the installation of the AI-based security camera system in order to control the traffic order and prevent crime in locality.

The camera system has detected about 15,000 cases of road traffic violations.

In particular, the People’s Committee of Binh Phuoc Province assigned the Binh Phuoc Provincial Police Department to own the project of upgrading technical infrastructure at the local police information and command center, including the AI software to detect, analyze and handle traffic violations, and the AI security camera systems.

The project lasts from 2022 to 2025 with total investment of 55 billion VND funded by the provincial budget.

According to the Police Department of Binh Phuoc Province, from March 2020, the province's security and traffic surveillance camera system has detected about 15,000 cases of road traffic violations.

The installation of security camera systems has contributed to improving driver’s awareness of observing traffic safety regulations while reducing the number traffic accidents especially at some "black spots” on roads.
