Can Tho City promotes the “All people protecting national security” movement

PSNews – The Can Tho Municipal People’s Committee on November 27 organized a conference to review the 10-year implementation of Directive No.03-CT/TU of the Municipal Party Committee’s Standing Commission on promoting the movement “All people protecting national security” in the new period.

At the conference, the Standing Commission briefed on positive outcomes of this movement, limitations and solutions to overcome these limitations in the coming time.

Accordingly, the public dissemination and mass mobilization were implemented effectively. The movement’s steering committee organized over 171,000 information and dissemination drives attracting the attendance of nearly 7 million people; as a result, people reported to the police information about over 30,000 cases, which helped the functional forces crack down on 8,930 cases, arrest and handle 20,676 subjects, contributing to ensuring the security and order in the city.

In building the local police force and the core force in promoting and conducting the “All people protecting National Security” movement, the city has established 49 security committees, 341 local-level security guard groups with more than 1,700 members, and hundreds of people’s patrol teams, people’s self-managed groups, civil defense groups, meditation groups and guard groups with tens of thousands of members.

Before the implementation of the movement, Can Tho city had had 14 communes, wards and townships as spots of special complex security and order. Now, 8 out of the14 communes, wards and townships have been considered crime-free areas with few criminal cases. At the same time, the city also proposed the Ministry of Public Security to remove 28 communes from the list of the 36 commune with complex security and order.

On this occasions, the Can Tho Municipal People’s Committee also presented Certificates of Merit to 5 organizations and 15 individuals with outstanding achievements in promoting the “All people protecting national security” movement in the new phase.
