CAND Newspaper and donor bring warm Tet to Long Xuyen people

PSNews – A social charitable mission of the Public Security (CAND) Newspaper on January 27 visited Long Xuyen City, An Giang Province and presented 150 packs of Tet gifts to 50 policy beneficiaries and needy households residing at My Thanh Ward, and 100 needy civil guards in Long Xuyen City.

The mission was joined by Senior Colonel Lam Minh Hong, Deputy Director of the An Giang Provincial Police Department; Mr. Pham Thanh Thai, Chairman of the Long Xuyen Municipal People’s Committee.

For the 20th consecutive year, when the spring comes, the CAND Newspaper organizes the program "Tet for the poor," with the participation of many enterprises and kind donors.

In Long Xuyen City, 150 packs of Tet gifts were handed over to 50 policy beneficiaries and needy households residing at My Thanh Ward, and 100 needy civil guards in Long Xuyen City.

The gifts came from donation of Mr. Tran Van Tri and Mr. Tran Van Tuan from An Binh Ceramic Enterprise (Long Xuyen City), Mr. Tran Phuc Thanh and his wife, Miss International 2014 Dang Thu Thao (20 million VND), Mr. Nguyen Thai Cuong (Cho Moi, An Giang) (5 million VND), and the Youth Union chapter of the An Giang Provincial Police Department (30 million VND).

At the event, representatives of the CAND Newspaper inquired after, and extended New Year wishes to local residents and local civil guards. With the practical gifts, the CAND Newspaper, the An Giang Police Force and kind donors hoped to ease difficulties of needy residents, policy beneficiary families and needy civil guards in Long Xuyen City.

Sharing with the CAND Newspaper, Senior Colonel Lam Minh Hong said that, although the An Giang Police force and the Provincial Party Committee and Provincial People's Committee have striven to improve lives and incomes for the civil guard force, but some have still faced many difficulties, and a few have quit their jobs.

"Therefore, the Tet gifts from the CAND Newspaper and donors will be a source of support and encouragement for the local civil guard force to fulfill their tasks in the fight against crime and ensure security and order and peaceful life in grassroots level", he affirmed.
