Dak Lak Police bust cross-border drug ring, seize large amount of methamphetamine

PSNews – The Anti-Narcotics Police Office under the Dak Lak Provincial Police Department is detaining 2 suspects involved in the largest-ever illegal transportation case of methamphetamine in the Central Highlands.

Squad while checking vehicles on the road passing the Cuor Dang Commune, Cu M’gar District stopped a suspect car with its licensed plate number 29A-051.28 going from Gia Lai toward Dak Lak.

When the vehicle stopped, the driver and a passenger immediately got out of the car and ran away. The traffic police officers quickly chased the suspects and finally arrested the two suspects in a coffee plantation.

These two suspects are Nhia Ho (born in 1993, of Lao nationality) who drove the car, and Vu Ba Tenh (born in 1996, residing in Ky Son District, Nghe An Province).

Checking the car, the police team discovered 8 sacks hidden inside the trunk and the rear bench of the car, each containing 25 packages of methamphetamine. The seized narcotics totals 200 kg.

At the police station, suspect Nhia Ho said that he was hired by a person named Lis Ham (of Lao nationality) to transport the narcotics from the border area near Lao’s Savanaphet border gate to Ho Chi Minh City for a 20,000 USD.

On July 19, he went to the border and met Vu Ba Tenh and saw the car there. At that time, the methamphetamine had already been put in the car.
