Dak Lak police officers active in donating blood

PSNews – The 12th blood donation drive “Red Sunday 2020” was held on January 15 in Krong Pak District, Dak Lak Province with the participation of hundreds of local police officers. 

The program was co-hosted by the Tien Phong Newspaper, the National Traffic Safety Committee, the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion (NIHBT), the Dak Lak Provincial Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation, the Dak Lak Provincial Youth Union chapter and the Vietnam Youth Federation chapter in Dak Lak.

The drive drew the participation of many local officials, youth union members, young people and people from all walks of life, as well as the local police officers and soldiers.

According to Ms. Tran Thi Thanh, Deputy Head of the Krong Pak District’s Red Cross chapter, this was the first time the local authority collaborate with the Tien Phong Newspaper to organize the program “Red Sunday”, with the participation of nearly 2,000 people.

Ms. Ngo Thi Minh Trinh, Vice Chairman of the Krong Pak People’s Committee, Head of the “Red Sunday” Organizing Committee said that the event had been expected to collect about 900 blood units. However, by the end of the event, over 1,200 blood units were collected.

A young police officer from the Krong Pak District Police Station, who joined the drive, said: “Over the years, police officers and soldiers of Krong Pak District have joined many blood donation programs. They have also registered to join the local live blood bank to donate blood for the patients in urgent need.

Such blood donation contributes to supporting the patients, thereby bringing happiness to many families and the community as a whole.”
