Department of Internal Security reviews task performance

PSNews - The Department of Internal Security under the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) on June 28 held a conference to review its task performance in first half of 2021 (H1).

Lieutenant General Luong Tam Quang, Member of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Minister of Public Security attended and addressed the event. Major General Pham Ngoc Viet, Director of the Department of Internal Security chaired the event.

Reports at the conference read that, in H1, the Department of Internal Security closely followed the working program and direction of the leadership of the MPS to overcome difficulties and comprehensively implemented all assigned tasks, contributing to ensuring national security and maintaining social order and safety.

In H1, 206 organizations and individuals of the department with their great achievements at work received noble rewards from leaders at all levels. Notably, the Department was awarded the Certificate of Merit from the Prime Minister for its excellent achievement in the building of all-people national defense posture in the period 2009-2019.

Speaking at the event, on behalf of the Central Party Committee of Public Security and leadership of the MPS, Deputy Minister Luong Tam Quang recognized and praised the achievements in performing its tasks gained by the Department of Internal Security in H1.

Regarding the major tasks in the last 6 months of 2021, Deputy Minister Luong Tam Quang asked the Department of Internal Security to strictly and effectively implement directions of the Party, the State, the Central Party Committee of Public Security and leaderships of the MPS on internal security work while promptly discovering, preventing and defeating conspiracies and activities by hostile and reactionary forces and terrorists.

The Deputy Minister also requested the department to soon organize a conference to review the work of preventing and fighting plots and sabotage activities by reactionary and hostile forces during the Doi Moi period, and coordinate with local police units to compile a guidebook on ensuring internal security for the commune police force.

At the event, under the authority of the Prime Minister, Deputy Minister Luong Tam Quang awarded the Certificate of Merit of the Prime Minister to the Department of Internal Security and the Government’s Emulation Flag to Division No.1 of the Department.
