Department of Public Security History, Science and Strategic Studies holds its Party Congress

The Party organization of the Department of Public Security History, Science and Strategic Studies (DHSS) under the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) held its first Party Congress for the 2020-2025 term on August 24.

Major General Tran Quoc To, Member of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Minister of Public Security, attended the Congress.

In the last term, the DHSS Party organization stood united to lead department to comprehensively fulfill all of its assigned tasks.

Notably, under the leadership of the Party organization, the DHSS has supported the MPS in drafting two resolutions and two directives on strategic research and scientific activities in the Public Security Forces. The Party organization also advised the MPS’s leadership to implement the Government's project to intensify technology transfer by 2025, with a vision toward 2030.

The Party organization also directed the DHSS to compile and publish the Public Security Encyclopedia on historical science by 2025 while finalizing many research projects, including the book series “History of the Vietnam People’s Public Security Forces (1945-1975)”, the book “History of Vietnamese Public Security Experts in Laos (1961-2021)”, the project on reviewing the cooperation between the Vietnamese Public Security Forces and the Cambodian Police Forces through history.

It also led the development and put into use of a modern information and documentation system connecting public security units and agencies nationwide, which serves as a premise for them to develop scientific research on security and social order protection, force building, and logistic and technical services.

Deputy Minister To emphasized that the DHSS Party organization should attach importance to improving the quality of political and ideological education for its Party members while further advising the MPS’s leadership to craft medium- and long-term strategies on scientific and technological research, theoretical research, dictionary and encyclopedia compilation, and scientific information in the Public Security Forces.
