Deputy Minister Ngoc urges relevant units to speed up implementation of Project 06

PSNews - Standing Deputy Chief of the Government's Project 06 Working Group and Deputy Minister of Public Security Lieutenant General Nguyen Duy Ngoc chaired a webinar on the implementation of Project 06 and digital transformation of the 14 provincial-level police departments, on the morning of April 1, 2023, in Hanoi.

According to a summary report by the Police Department of Administrative Management of Social Order, 224 online public services have so far been provided for people and businesses, getting positive public opinion while the resident data of 99% of the population has been collected and preserved on the National Population Database. 

This has created a valuable and important foundation and resource for the management,  administration, and policy-making as well as for socio-economic development.

In February, through the National Population Database, the police fixed data of 18 million credit holders and 95.56 million subscribers helping the banking industry and network operators save nearly VND 500 billion. 

In implementing Project 06, several cities and provinces had creative and good methods. 

Typically, the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province deployed the model of "Online public services" in 100% of its commune-level governments while the Ca Mau Provincial People's Committee launched a 69-day peak campaign to improve the efficiency of using online public services in the province.

In particular, Hanoi set up a working group to assist State officials, civil servants and employees of the Ministry of Home Affairs in registering and activating e-ID accounts, and Ho Chi Minh City coordinated with the Ministry of Public Security in developing a plan to implement Project 06 in the city while Ha Nam province launched the Project 06 website and its 15 communes and wards had issued chip-based ID cards to 100% of their populations.

At the conference, delegates discussed a number of related issues and agreed on important contents, creating a foundation for provincial-level police units to effectively implement Project 06 and digital transformation in their localities. 

Speaking at the conference, Deputy Minister Nguyen Duy Ngoc affirmed that the effective implementation of Project 06 and digital transformation will contribute positively to creating a more civilized and thriving society, promoting socio-economic development and effectively preventing and controlling crime.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Duy Ngoc asked the police units in the 14 provinces and cities to speed up the implementation of Project 06, digital transformation, according to the set schedule.
