Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Thanh receives Lao public security delegation

PSNews - He hoped that in the time ahead, the two countries should further promote cooperation and take effective measures to ensure border security.  

Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Thanh, Deputy Minister of Public Security hosted an informal reception for a Lao public security delegation of 6 Lao northern provinces on September 7, in Hanoi.

At the meeting, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Thanh affirmed that Vietnam and Laos are the two neighboring countries that have enjoyed a close friendship for a very long time. The two people have stood shoulder to shoulder in fighting against the common enemies for national independence.

The Central Public Security Party Committee and leaders of the Public Security Ministry of Vietnam are always aware that every victory in the past national liberation wars as well as every achievement in the current national construction and defense cause of Vietnam is imbrued with valuable support and assistance of the Party, the State and people of Laos.

“In recent times, the cooperation between Vietnam and Laos in general as well as the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and the Public Security Ministry of Laos in particular have been developing in depth and width in many fields, contributing significantly to the protection of national security and social order of each country”, he stressed.

At the meeting, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Thanh highly appreciated the effective collaboration between the public security forces of the 6 northern provinces of Laos and the Dien Bien Provincial Police of Vietnam over the past time, facilitating the socio-economic development of both sides.

He hoped that in the time ahead, the two countries should further promote cooperation and take effective measures to ensure border security. 

On behalf of the public security delegation of the 6 northern provinces of Laos, Senior Colonel Lamphay Nhotphaphay, Head of the Bokeo Provincial Public Security Command thanked Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Thanh for the warm welcome.

He believed that the traditional friendly relations and comprehensive cooperation between the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and the Ministry of Public Security of Laos will be sustainable and developed forever.
