Deputy Minister Tran Quoc To visited and worked in Yunnan province, China

PSNews - As a member of the high-level Vietnamese delegation led by Chairman of the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Vuong Dinh Hue on an official visit to China, Deputy Minister of Public Security Senior Lieutenant General Tran Quoc To and his entourage paid a working visit to the Yunnan Provincial Public Security Department and Yunnan Police College, China, on April 12, 2024.

 *At the Yunnan Provincial Police Department, receiving and working with the delegation was Vice Governor of the People's Committee, Director of the Provincial Public Security Department Yue Xiuhu.

Deputy Minister Tran Quoc To hoped that the two sides will continue to thoroughly and effectively implement the memoranda of understanding and cooperation agreements signed signed by leaders of the Ministries of Public Security of China and Vietnam and maintained cooperation mechanisms at the provincial and district levels, early evaluated the implementation of the Police Cooperation Mechanism Agreement to propose amendments to some contents of the agreement to suit the new situation.

The guest emphasized the need to increase meetings and information exchange in a regular and irregular manner, frequently organize surveys on borderlines and bordercrossings to draw up appropriate plans to ensure security and order as well as prevent and fight cross-border drug trafficking, hi-tech crime, human trafficking, smuggling while teaming up to verifying and arresting fugitives.

The two sides need to strengthen cooperation in managing entry and exit, and prevent illegal entry and exit.

For his part, the host emphasized that over the past years, within the framework of the ministerial conference mechanism on crime prevention and combat cooperation between the two countries' Ministries of Public Security, the Yunnan Provincial Public Security Department and police forces from the Vietnamese provinces of Lao Cai, Lai Chau, Dien Bien and Ha Giang had bolstered relations and cooperate.

The two sides often exchanged delegations at all levels, cooperated closely in preventing and combating crime.

In the coming time, the Chinese official hoped that the two sides will continue to deepen the law enforcement cooperation, hold meetings between the police of Yunnan province and the police of the four Vietnamese provinces, promote law enforcement cooperation in border areas.
 
*On the same day, Deputy Minister Tran Quoc To and the delegation from the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam took a field trip to the Drug Prevention and Information Center of the Yunnan Police College.

Deputy Minister Tran Quoc To hoped that the Yunnan Police College will continue cooperation in training, scientific research and technical support with the People's Police Academy of the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam in accordance with the signed deal between the two schools.
