Deputy Minister Tran Quoc To visits grassroots-level police units

PSNews - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Public Security Central Party Committee and Deputy Minister of Public Security Senior Lieutenant General Tran Quoc To visited and worked with officers of the My Khanh Communal Police Post and the An Hoa Ward Police Post, in Can Tho.

Director of the Can Tho Municipal Police Department Major General Nguyen Van Thuan attended the working sessions.

At the meeting, Director of the Can Tho Municipal Police Department Major General Nguyen Van Thuan revealed that, over the past time, the My Khanh Communal Police Post, the An Hoa Ward Police Post as well as all communal-level police posts in Can Tho city have taken synchronous measures to maintain political security and social order and safety at grassroots levels, and their work results have been highly appreciated by the local authorities and people.

Addressing the working sessions, Deputy Minister Tran Quoc To applauded all the achievements obtained by the two police units over the past time and underlined that the communal-level police force now had grasped the local situation and satisfactorily solved people’s legitimate requests as well as addressed conflicts among people early and at the grassroots level.

The Deputy Minister also underscored that the grassroots-level order and security protection force mainly come from the locality so its members have deep understanding of local customs and practices as well as the local security and order situation.

The force can serve as the “extended arm” of the grassroots-level police force, helping the local police stay closer to the people so the local police unit should attach importance to building the force.

Regarding key tasks of the two police posts in the time to come, Deputy Minister Tran Quoc To requested that the two police units should effectively perform their function of state management of security and order, proactively prevent and combat crimes and social evils as well as further promote the “All people protecting national security” movement and mobilize the entire political system to participate in ensuring security and order so as to firmly protect political security and social order in the city, contributing to local socio-economic development.

In addition, Deputy Minister Tran Quoc To asked the Can Tho Municipal Police Department to deploy more personnel, provide sufficient equipment and facilities to the grassroots-level police force as well as open training courses for grassroots-level police officers on good methods of mass mobilization and building the “ All people protecting national security” movement.
