Dien Bien police help people overcome flood consequences

PSNews –A mission of the Youth Union chapter and the Women Union chapter of the Dien Bien Provincial Police Department together with the Red Scarf House Support Fund travelled dozens of kilometers of difficult terrains to Nam Nhu Commune, Nam Po District in September to present gifts to local people. 

Nam Nhu is an extremely poor commune of Nam Po District, Dien Bien Province with more than 82% of the population are poor.

Unfortunately, a flash flood last month swept away many assets of local people with a total loss of over 4 billion VND, leaving more difficulties to local people.           

In order to ease the local people’s difficulties, a large number of members of the Youth Union chapter and the Women Union chapter of Dien Bien police came to the area to help local people clear mud and overcome the consequences of the flood.

They also called on businesses, organizations and individuals as well as Dien Bien police officers to donate money and necessities for Nam Nhu people.

In Nam Nhu Commune, the mission presented 5 tons of rice and 300 packs of gifts containing necessities to the needy people. They also handed over 50 sets of table and chair along with learning tools to local students. The total gifts cost over 200 million VND.
