Dong Nai City Police Department makes debut

The Ministry of Public Security solemnly held a ceremony to announce the Minister of Public Security’s decision to officially establish the Dong Nai City Police Department, on May 18 in Dong Nai City.

Member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Public Security Central Party Committee and Minister of Public Security General Luong Tam Quang chaired the ceremony.

Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Dong Nai City Party Committee and Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Dong Nai City Vu Hong Van attended the event.

Following the National Assembly’s Resolution on the establishment of Dong Nai City as a centrally governed city, which took effect from April 30, 2026, the Minister of Public Security issued a decision to officially establish the Dong Nai City Police Department as well as regulate its functions, duties and organizational structure of the Centrally-run-level municipal police unit.

At the ceremony, after the announcement of the Minister’s decision on the establishment of the Dong Nai City Police Department, Minister Luong Tam Quang handed over appointment decisions to the Board of Directors of the newly established Dong Nai City Police Department.

Under the glorious national flag, Director of the Dong Nai City Police Department Major General Nguyen Duc Hai performed the oath-taking ceremony.

The establishment of the Dong Nai City Police Department is not only an organizational milestone but also an affirmation of the position, role, responsibility, courage and honor of the city’s police force to meet their new requirements for deployment.

Addressing the ceremony, Minister Luong Tam Quang highly appreciated the achievements attained by generations of officers of the Dong Nai Police Force through different periods.

As the country is entering a new stage of development and a new era of national rise, Minister Luong Tam Quang requested the Dong Nai City Police Department to continue upholding its proud traditions and strive to achieve higher goals worthy of being the police force of a centrally governed city.

Accordingly, the Dong Nai City Police Department should take the lead in streamlining its organizational apparatus for greater effectiveness and efficiency, while promoting administrative reform and digital transformation.

At the same time, it should focus on effectively implementing emulation movements, particularly the “For National Security” emulation movement and the “Three Best” emulation movement, and continue building a truly pure, strong, regular, elite and modern police force capable of meeting task requirements in the new situation, strisuccessfully fulfill all assigned tasks in 2026 and the following years.

The Minister also expressed confidence that, with its new role and position, the Dong Nai City Police Department would unite in solidarity, achieve many new victories and accomplishments and excellently fulfill all tasks entrusted by the Party, the State and the people.
