Fire prevention should be continuously well implemented in H2

PSNews - The number of fire and explosion cases in the first half of 2017 has been controlled. The number of deaths and injured people decreased compared to the previous 6 months.

The Hanoi Municipal Firefighting Police held a conference on July 11 to summarize its task performance in the first half of 2017 and roll out its plan for the second half. 

Reports showed that, in the first 6 months of 2017, the causes of fire and explosion in Hanoi were mainly short-circuits, incense burning and failures of machines.

The number of fire and explosion cases in the first half of 2017 has been controlled. The number of deaths and injured people decreased compared to the previous 6 months. However, material losses sharply increased, valued at about VND 300 billion. 

The Hanoi Municipal Firefighting Police has advised the leadership of Hanoi to issue many relevant documents, including detailed and specialized plans on fire prevention and rescue activities.

Meanwhile, the movement of all people participating in fire prevention has been renewed in a practical and efficient manner. The State management of fire prevention and rescue has also been promoted while many firefighting policemen were sent abroad to attend professional training courses.

Speaking at the conference, Major General Doan Viet Manh, Director of the Department of Fire Prevention and Rescue under the Ministry of Public Security instructed the local firefighting force to closely follow and well perform all tasks outlined in H2 plan, while trying to overcome shortcomings and accelerate administrative reforms.

In particular, the force should concentrate in ensuring absolute security for key zones and important events in Hanoi.

At the conference, representatives of the department presented certificates of merit to 28 individuals and organizations for their outstanding contribution in the first 6 months of 2017.
