General Police Department Women's Union celebrates Vietnamese Women's Day

Hanoi - On October 11th, General Police Department Women's Union held a ceremony to commemorate the 86th anniversary of founding of Vietnam Women's Union (20-10).

Lieutenant General Phan Van Vinh, General Director of the Public Security Ministry's General Police Department attended and delivered speech at the ceremony. Presenting at the ceremony was also Colonel Ngo Hoai Thu, chairman of Public Security Ministry's Women's Union; Major General Pham Van The, Director of Police Advisory Department; Colonel Nhu Thi Minh Nguyet, Director of the Police Political Bureau Department; representatives of the units under the General Police Department and outstanding women members from General Police Department Women's Union.

Lieutenant Colonel Cao Thi Anh Hong, Chairman of the General Police Department Women's Union reviewed the 86-year history of Vietnam Women's Union, and 6-year of the Vietnam Women's Day and summarized the achievements of the General Police Department Women's Union. 

In recent years women within people's police force and women of General Police Department in particular have been learning and practicing to prove the role  of women in maintaining national security and social order and safety. Many women groups and individuals was rewarded by the Party and State; Central Women's Union,; Ministry of Public Security and the General Police Department.

There were 17 individuals being awarded the medal "For the development of Vietnamese Women" in 2016 for contributions to the equality and development of women in Vietnam.

General Director of General Police Department Lieutenant General Phan Van Vinh had a conversation with Police Women's Union members under the theme: The professional spirit of women working in People's Police forces. 

Mr. Pham Van Vinh answered all the questions and also encouraged the union members to work harder.

He also affirmed, the Party  and leaders of the General Police Department always highly appriciate and support the work of Women's union members.
